Professional IT and NetDespatch have joined forces to provide courier and express companies with a unique 'plug and go' web services package. The new system is the result of full two-way integration between Professional IT's Freedom despatch system and the NetDespatch web based booking, tracking and mobile technology services. The main benefit from this collaboration is that Freedom users can implement a sophisticated and resilient Internet booking and tracking system, without additional investment in either software or hardware, as NetDespatch is a securely hosted service operating over the Internet.
The integrated system is a significant step forward for the courier industry as it marries what is regarded as the UK's most advanced control and administration system, with sophisticated web-based booking and tracking services that were previously only within the reach of the biggest multi-nationals.
With NetDespatch, couriers can offer their clients on-line or XML integrated booking and tracking of deliveries via any computer or device with a web browser. Job details are retrieved automatically from the NetDespatch servers by Freedom, with subsequent status updates such as accepted, allocated and proof of delivery posted automatically back to NetDespatch. In addition, bookings taken in the traditional way over the telephone are also logged into Freedom and posted onto NetDespatch so that all orders can be tracked irrespective of the original booking method.
